Regarding the question which was generally asked, as to why did Jesus have to DIE to save all mankind, I commented twice:

Another facet of what Jesus did, in His Death on the cross was killing the carnal-man on the cross. This understanding ties in with our need to present our own bodies as a living sacrifice _and_ taking up our own crosses daily - i.e. crucifying our own carnal-mind and its lies that it whispers in our minds. Rosh HaShanah is referred to in the Torah as YOM TERUAH, the Day of the Sounding of the shofar (or the day of the awakening blast). On Yom Teruah (Rosh HaShanah), it is imperative for every person to hear (Shema) the shofar. The mitzvah (biblical commandment) of the shofar is to HEAR (Shema) the shofar being blown, not actually to blow it yourself, hence the blessing for the shofar "to hear the sound of the shofar".
Teruah means "an awakening blast". A theme associated with Rosh HaShanah is the theme "to awake". (…)

This prophecy was fulfilled one to one after the Babylonian exile when Israel returned to the land, rebuilt the temple, restored the city and etc. There is nothing in the text of Ezekiel or in the historical context in which he prophesied to indicate that the prophecy refers to the current state of Israel or any other event beyond the return from exile.
As for replacement theology, two things hold true. (…)
