Rosh HaShanah is referred to in the Torah as YOM TERUAH, the Day of the Sounding of the shofar (or the day of the awakening blast). On Yom Teruah (Rosh HaShanah), it is imperative for every person to hear (Shema) the shofar. The mitzvah (biblical commandment) of the shofar is to HEAR (Shema) the shofar being blown, not actually to blow it yourself, hence the blessing for the shofar "to hear the sound of the shofar".
Teruah means "an awakening blast". A theme associated with Rosh HaShanah is the theme "to awake". (…)

I saw a great plain, and there on the ground, people are sleeping. It is as though they have ‘camped’ there, and are content to be there - not planning to go anywhere. There is a general sense of semi-darkness around them…not evil darkness, but just a ‘ nigh time’ that is associated with sleeping.
Suddenly I hear the sound of a trumpet. It is saying ‘Wake up! Wake up!” There is an urgency in the call. Bodies begin to stir, and lift their heads to see what is happening. Then I see the Lord himself arrive on a large horse, and his appearing is a splendid thing. He is the One who was blowing the trumpet. … ‘Arise my love, and come away with Me’ It is both gentle in feel, and terrifying in it’s urgency. (…)

“The harlot is the flesh nature of man that has taken its rule in the churches–self-aggrandizement, men seeking to increase themselves in flocks. They count numbers and glory in them. Hopefully you have already read the many postings on the Forum regarding Elijah being God the Father Himself. In one of those messages, I mentioned my own speculation that Melchizedek was also God the Father in the flesh, ie the same person as Elijah, which is the Mind Attribute of God Almighty in manifestation or the Second Heaven on down. Today I was browsing and fell upon a Dead Sea Scrolls website and want to share this section with you.

The time has come, the hour has arrived. I will destroy that which is
not of Me. You have played the harlot and have not returned to Me.
You have mistaken Me and not held Me in high regard. The time has
